⬥Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Key Issues Comparison

Below is a comparison of positions, policies, and plans from Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on a handful of issues. The issues are the economy, but in particular housing and taxes, illegal immigration, firearms, foreign wars, and healthcare. A note to the reader -- In an effort to not clutter the page with quotation marks, I left them out, but everything is either a direct quote or paraphrase based on the two sources at the end of the article. All information of Harris is from her website, and all information of Trump is from the GOP Platform doc, a link found on his website. I did however put single quotation marks around vague terms.

Economy

Housing

Donald Trump plans to reduce mortgage rates by slashing inflation, open limited portions of Federal Lands to allow for new home construction, promote homeownership through ‘tax incentives’ and ‘support’ for first-time buyers, and ‘cut unnecessary regulations’ that raise housing costs.

Kamala Harris plans on giving a $25,000 tax credit to first-time home buyers. She also plans on building 3 million homes through tax incentives and reducing ‘red tape’.

Taxes

Donald Trump is planning to cut taxes by a ‘large’ margin for workers and get rid of tax on tips.

Kamala Harris plans on ‘cutting taxes’ for 100 million working and middle class Americans.

Illegal Immigration

Donald Trump is for securing the border, deporting illegal aliens, and reversing the Democrats’ open borders policies. He is also planning on completing the border wall.

Kamala Harris wants to sign into law a ‘border security bill’.

2nd Amendment

Kamala Harris is for an ‘assault weapons’ and high-capacity magazine ban. She is for implementing ‘universal background checks’ and she supports ‘red flag laws’.

War

Donald Trump stands with Israel, and seeks peace in the Middle East through rebuilding an ‘alliance network’.

Kamala Harris will take whatever action is necessary to protect U.S. forces and interests from Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups and stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself and she will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself.

Healthcare

Kamala Harris will make affordable healthcare a right, not a privilege by expanding and strengthening the Affordable Care Act.
